The trail then winds its way through vineyards and pine forests to Banyuls-sur-Mer. Next, the coastal path runs along the rugged coastline with its small sandy beaches and rocky coves called "calas" in Catalan. This hike reveals an extraordinary contrast between vineyards and seaside resorts.
