Park in the large car park at Leca, at the end of the hamlet. This hamlet is located 4km above Corsavy on the road to Batère.
(S/E) At the far end of the car park, take the footbridge and then turn right towards Coll de l'Estanyol (yellow markings). The path follows the stream for a while before crossing it and leaving it behind. You will come to a crossroads.
(1) Continue straight ahead on the path, which climbs steadily to an intersection (altitude 1,230 m, signpost: La Devesa - Le Faig.
(2) Take the path on the right, which descends at first and then continues to climb steadily. Leave a path on the right (Torre d'Anglas) and continue to a crossroads (altitude 1,410 m, signpost: Tour du Canigou.
(3) Take the lower path that branches off to the left, heading south, marked with yellow and red markings.
Be careful to ignore the path on the right, which is also marked Tour du Canigou, heading north-west, but leads to Col d'en Cé.
You will come to a fork with a signpost.
(4) Pass a path on the right and arrive at a large clearing where you will find the Cabane de la Devèze (an open hut where you can sleep) slightly above the path. From here, there is a superb view of the plain and the Serre du Roc Nègre, a foothill of Canigou.
(5) Continue along the path, which then turns into a track and leads to the Col de l'Estagnol (low signpost, elevation 1667).
(6) If you climb a little way up into the clearing, you will have a very pretty view of the Vallespir. When you reach the signpost, you may not necessarily see the start of the path downhill, which leaves to the left between the trees, heading north-west (small cairn on the ground). However, you can clearly see the markings for the mountain bike route, which is the same path.
Follow the well-marked yellow trail, which descends gently and winds its way down a series of wide bends. Cut across a track and continue straight ahead to reach the fork you passed on the way up.
(2) From there, continue straight ahead and take the same route back to the car park (S/E).
