Description of the walk

After parking in Aston Magna, one or two places without causing two much disruption, cross over the railway bridge walking away from the converted church.

Proceed in a westerly direction following signs to Draycott. Continue through Draycott passing two no through roads on your right, eventually take the right turn, on reaching main road B4479 turn right towards Paxford, you will pass the brickworks and over a railway crossing before entering Paxford.

At the Churchill Arms, turn right and follow the road round to the right, return to Aston Magna down a quiet road.

Notes

The Churchill Arms had a major fire in 2022, however I believe it will be fully restored by the end of 2026.

The walk takes in the lovely rolling Cotswold fields, before a view of Foxcote Manor and a walk along the top of the Cotswold Escarpment, taking in breathtaking views North out as far as Birmingham and Coventry. Drop down to the lovely National Trust property at Hidcote for tea and cake, before a return through fields and hamlets to sit by the pub fire with a well earned pint.
