Description of the walk

Start: Park close to the Catholic Church.

(S/E) Facing the church from the minor road (Cotswold Way), turn left and proceed to the fork and take left. Continue climbing Dovers Hill, the minor road eventually changing to a track/footpath. Continue until the road.

(1) At Kingcombe Lane turn left for 90 metres, then turn right on a footpath. After 500m the path forks. Take right nearly straight on. Continue for 800 metres to reach the road.

(2) At the road cross over and enter The Dingle wood. Bear left after exiting the woods and start descending with the woods on your right. At the bottom of the field, at Keyt Gate, bear right, cross the ditch, then turn left into the field with the stream on your left. After 700 metres reach the road.

(3) At the road turn right. After 400 metres turn right off the road to a footpath, continue towards Middle Norton Farm and bear right with the farm on your left. After about 700 metres in a nearly straight line reach the wood, and enter it on the right corner. Exit the wood with the building on your right, then follow the road a short distance to a road junction.

(4) At the road junction go straight over onto a minor road bearing left. After about 500 metres turn right onto a footpath. After crossing the first field, veer to the right in the next field across to the hedge, then follow the hedge with it on your right. Go between some buildings and, descending, eventually pass the school on your right. Just past the school is the next waymark, a right turn.

(5) Take the right turn on Monarch's Way, after about 200 metres turn left and reach a road close to a junction. At the road turn right, then immediately left to pass the church. Follow the road bearing right, ignoring the turn-off to the left, to reach the main road in Chipping Campden.

(6) At the T junction turn left and at the earliest opportunity cross over the road and continue down the high street. You will pass the Market Hall, the start or finish of The Cotswold Way. Continue straight on until you turn right into the road with the Catholic church.(S/E)

Worth a visit

Between WM 2 and 3 at the top of Dovers Hill to the left is the ground for the Robert Dover's Cotswold Olympicks games, celebrated every year on the first Friday after the Spring Bank Holiday. See HERE

Chipping Campden was the heart of the Arts and Crafts movement. A place I like to visit is https://hartsilversmiths.co.uk/. Also in the same building is the cafe art group.
