(S/E) Park in the large car park at the Musée de la Correrie or in the hikers' car park above the museum. Head for the Pont des Allemands bridge.
(1) Take the track ascending to the south-west. Along the way, in the forest, ignore the paths that branch off to the right. Reach the edge of the forest.
(2) Climb up through a fence in the meadow, following a diagonal trail to gain altitude.
Pass an isolated tree and then head towards a recently built barn.
(3) Join the snow-covered road above and follow it north for 200 metres.
At the bend, leave the road and head north, climbing up into the mountain pasture.
The slope of the path then levels out before entering the forest again.
You will soon come out onto the Billon mountain pasture near the buildings.
(4) From Le Habert, look for the sign indicating the Col de la Ruchère.
The trail climbs steadily through the narrow Folie meadow, ending with a short descent to the wide open space of the pass at an altitude of 1,407 metres. Enjoy the panoramic view from the pass.
(5) Descend into the open valley, passing close to some ruins.
The marked trail then enters the forest, finally emerging onto the road at a place called La Scierie. Pass close to the Saint-Bruno chapel and Notre-Dame de Casalibus.
::6: Continue downhill along the wide path to reach the vast Grande Chartreuse monastery complex.
(7) Now follow the road downhill for a long way to the car park (S/E).

Do this circular walk in the opposite direction, without any clear signposts until you reach the Col de la Ruchère, where there are lots of people. After the descent to Abert de Billon, no problem, but then no more signs, no yellow markings on the trees after plunging into the meadow via a small path that looked like a cove plunging into the forest. At km 8, the Viso trail branches off to the right, but there is no path and no signs. After searching for a while and finding nothing, we decided to continue along a path marked with dotted lines on the Viso map, but it was very difficult to descend into this dense forest with steep slopes and no signs. We finally arrived at a forest path and took a detour to avoid points 3 and 2 because we were starting to feel tired, but we arrived safely at the Pont des Allemands car park.
