Park in the centre of the village of Bescat, in the market hall car park.
(S/E) The route begins at the start of Chemin du Boila. From the start, the "Le Boila" sign and then vertical yellow markings lead to the end of the paved section of the street. The route continues along an old sunken path that climbs for about 50 metres and then continues horizontally to the junction with a track that comes from the top left and goes down to the bottom right.
Cross this track. The new path begins opposite and enters the woods via a chicane between two "Abreuvoir" signs. Clearly marked on the ground and indicated by numerous vertical yellow markings on the trees, it leads to the watering hole after the junction with the return path. An "Abreuvoir" sign on the right also indicates the direction to take.
(1) It is located a few metres further on, downhill. A trickle of water flows all year round and there is a rustic bench where you can rest. After your break, continue along the path for 500 metres, going up and down a series of steps and handrails. You will then come to a wide forest track leading uphill, which marks the boundary between the villages of Bescat and Sévignacq. A sign indicates both directions.
(2) Head straight ahead towards Sévignacq and continue for another 500 m until the track turns left. Turn and, after about ten metres, leave the track on the right to enter the woods on a small, recently created path marked with yellow markings and a cairn. The path – still marked in yellow – crosses the woods and leads to a track that is both theGR® 78 and the Tour du bassin d'Arudy route.
(3) Take this path on the left. This section is marked with horizontal white and red markings (GR® markings) as well as horizontal yellow markings for the Tour du bassin d'Arudy. After crossing a clearing surrounded by birch trees, continue to the bottom of a large fern grove where you will see a sign for theGR® 78.
(4) Turn left towards "Voie du Piémont - Haut de Bescat", which takes you back up through the fern grove before descending towards the village. Before reaching the village, turn left onto a path marked by a cairn, a yellow mark on a tree and signs for "Le Boila". This path descends before rejoining the path you started on.
(2) Keep to the right. Return to the village by following the yellow vertical markings and signs for "Le Boila" to the starting point (S/E).
