Departure from Carrefour de Nemours in the Dourdan Forest (central post shaped like a pencil, car park on the right when coming from the D836).
Yellow + blue round markings
(S/E) From the back of the car park, near an information board with a map, head west, leaving a worm-eaten picnic table on your right. Walk through the undergrowth. At a T-junction, turn right towards "Les deux Mares" (sign). Ford two streams in succession (depending on the season, they may be dry) and walk slightly uphill.
(1) At the next crossroads (plot no. 54), continue straight ahead (west). After a left-hand bend, walk along the left-hand side of a thinned forest. When a path comes from the left (plot no. 57), turn right and gradually head north-west.
No markings
(2) At the Denisy crossroads, ignore the yellow markings leading downhill to the left and take the Route du Cordon opposite (north-northwest) (sign on a tree a little further on; the path which, on the map, heads due north to the right of the path to follow is now overgrown). Just after the sign, ignore the path on the left and continue straight ahead (plot no. 56).
(3) Walk along the left-hand side of a pond overgrown with vegetation, including irises at the edge. Continue west, turn right with the path and walk along a pond on your right. When a path comes from the left (three-trunk oak tree at the intersection), continue to the right. At the fork that follows immediately, follow the path on the right heading north. You will arrive at Carrefour du Bréau.
(4) Turn onto the first path on the right, which is wide and stabilised, the Route de la Fresnaie. Ignore a path branching off to the right, then cross a perpendicular path.
Red and white markings
(5) At Carrefour de la Réserve, turn left at a right angle onto Route des Deux Mares (GR®1). Walk alongside two ponds, one on each side of the path.
Blue round markings
(6) At the next crossroads, turn right onto a wide grassy path towards Chêne Saint-Louis (sign). At the next crossroads (central stone circle), continue towards Chêne Saint-Louis (sign) by taking the third path on the left (east).
Red and white + blue round markings
(7) Cross a small road (the one leading to the car park at the start) but do not cross the D836 road. Immediately turn right (south-east), behind a forest barrier, onto Route de Marcoussis and follow the signs for "Promenade de Nemours" (sign).
Blue round markings
(8) At the crossroads (signpost), continue straight ahead on Route de Marcoussis and leave theGR®1 trailas it veers left. At the first junction, after a few metres, turn right onto a grassy path which quickly becomes more open. Ignore a path on the left and immediately cross a stream via a paved ford (information sign). At the next junction with a wide track, take the path opposite that starts on the right (orange arrow; leave the tree marked with the number 45 on your left).
(9) At the next junction, ignore the orange arrow pointing to the left and take the path on the right between two trees marked with the number 44. At the next junction, continue straight ahead (plot no. 50). Then cross a small tarmac road (no traffic) and continue straight ahead (sign for "Promenade de Nemours").
No markings
At the T-junction (the path shown on the map, which is supposed to continue straight ahead, no longer exists), leave the Promenade de Nemours on your left and turn right. Walk north-northeast to reach the Carrefour de Nemours (S/E), whose central post is visible from a distance.
