Description of the walk

The route starts at the port of Porz Poulhan in the commune of Plozévet. You can get there from the village of Plozévet by following the signs for Porz Poulhan (road C3, near the bakery). You can also get there from Plouhinec by taking the D784 towards Plozévet and turning right onto Rue Jean Guillou, just after the church. Car park at the port of Porz Poulhan.

Yellow markings in the countryside, red and whiteGR®® markings along the coast.

(S/E) Leave the car park on the left, following the coastal road towards the Statue de La Bigoudène by the sea. At the statue, but on the left-hand side of the road, take the path that climbs up the grassy slope. Further on, it bends to the left, moving away from the shore towards the north-east. Another 50 m and you’ll reach a crossroads of paths.

(1) Head left (follow the sign for Douarnenez 24 km). After 300 m, the path enters the woodland. It passes the Moulin de Tréouzien on your left. Do pop in for a visit.
The path continues through the woodland and heads north-east again. After a long flight of steps leading uphill, take the grassy path on the left and continue north-east until you reach a junction with a track.

(2) Turn left down a slight slope and, 50 m further on, turn left again to follow the track. The track continues north, then east, before finally joining a tarmac road.

(3) At the first junction, turn right and climb the hill, then descend on the other side. At the junction, turn left to reach Keringard Huella farm and, at the next junction after the farm, turn right downhill towards Keringard riding stables. 100 m past the farm, turn right again uphill and, at the top of the hill, look for the start of a road on the right just before a modern house (black and white façade) with a white-walled fence.

(4) At this junction, continue down the road heading south-west. The tarmac gives way to a wide path that gradually turns southwards, running alongside a small stream. Further down, the path first turns right then left to go round a property. Another 100 m and a small path branches off to the right, leading to an old wash house in the woods, the Lavoir de Kerrérou. Return to the track, continue downhill until you rejoin the road. Follow it to the right and you’ll reach the coastal road.

(5) Cross it carefully and take the small path opposite leading to the coastal path (GR®®34). Follow the path to the right (and theGR®® markings) heading north-north-west. Further on, theGR®® rejoins the coastal road: continue along the road to No. 33 (on the left). Then turn right onto the street that climbs for 50 metres, then turn left onto Rue des Cormorans. At the end of this street, continue straight ahead along the path towards the harbour and return to the junction you passed at the start.

(1) Turn left to return to the car park via the reverse route of the outward journey (S/E).
