Circuit de la Voie Romaine à Torcé

(S/E) From the starting point, head south towards the crossroads. At the junction, take Rue de Vitré on the right, then Rue de la Chapelle Saint Roch and take the pedestrian alley (^3rd on the left, between Rue des Bruyères and Rue des Genêts) and follow it to the end. Take the street on the left to reach Rue de la Mairie and follow it to the right.

(1) Just after leaving the village, turn right onto a path and leave the road. Follow the path along the high-speed rail line to the bridge that crosses it. Then turn right and join the tarmac road. Turn left, cross the bridge and continue for about 100 metres.

(2) Turn right at the hairpin bend, then turn left after about 100 metres to follow the LGV to the tunnel that allows you to pass underneath it. At the exit, turn right then left to follow a field and join a tarmac road not far from the place called La Croix Huet.

(3) Turn left, then take the path on the right about a hundred metres further on. Follow this path to the D777.

(4) Cross it carefully and continue straight ahead. After 200 metres, cross another road and continue straight ahead. Follow the path to the D33.

(5) Cross the road, turn right, then immediately take the first left. Follow this road, which passes under the dual carriageway, crosses the hamlet of Les Vaux and arrives at a T-junction.

(6) Turn left. Then take the first right (Rue du Pont Samoual), continue to the OKWind company and turn left.

(7) At the end of the road, take a small path on the left that leads to a hedge of trees along the D106. Follow this path, which makes a circular loop.

(6) Continue straight ahead to pass under the dual carriageway again and arrive at the D777.

(8) Turn left, follow the road to a group of trees, then cross carefully to continue opposite. Go behind the car park and follow the road to a T-junction.

(9) Turn right, cross the D33 with caution and continue straight ahead on the D106 to return to the starting point (S/E).

Parking, shops and toilets are available near the starting point.
The passage under the high-speed rail line is tricky for mountain bikers and can be dangerous in heavy rain. In this case, take the road towards Croix Huet.

(6) If you do not wish to do the northern circular, take the road on the right to go directly to (8).
