Car park by the roadside near the Grâve campsite.
(S/E) Cross Rue de l’Étang and follow the path running alongside the campsite. Cross a stream via a footbridge.
The path passes through young deciduous woodland and emerges onto the Allée du Château du Givre. Follow it to the right for a good kilometre.
(1) At the junction with the old railway line, turn right towards the Ruisseau du Perche.
(2) Just before the bridge over the Perche, turn left and follow the stream (yellow markings). At the forest track, turn left away from the stream, then turn right onto a path that crosses another forest track.
(3) Continue straight ahead on the path that leads back towards the stream.
(4) Turn right onto the Allée Forestière de la Fontaine Robin, cross the small wooden bridge and follow this path uphill.
(5) After 300m, you’ll reach the old railway line; take it to the left towards the village of La Magdelaine. Leave it to the right and, at the road, turn left to reach the hamlet.
(6) In this hamlet, there is a chapel dating from 1199, originally part of a leper colony. Inside, carefully maintained by the villagers, is a 15th-century polychrome statue of the Virgin Mary.
To return, take the village road.
(7) Turn right onto Allée de la Fontaine Robin and walk for about 150 metres.
(8) Turn left onto the path towards the old Maillardais station and join the Route Forestière de Carheil to Maillerais. Turn right then immediately left onto the Allée Forestière du Pharel.
(9) Before the bridge over the Perche, turn left and follow the stream until you reach the Route de la Maillardais, which you follow to the right until you reach the car park (S/E).
