Description of the walk

The hike starts from the car park in the village of Tresserre, located on Chemin des Coulouminettes.
Please note that part of the route is not marked, so you must follow the GPS track carefully.

(S/E) Head towards the village and take the first small path on the left: no markings. You will reach a three-way junction.

(1) Turn left and continue to the junction with a track. Turn left and climb slightly through the vineyards.

(2) Leave the access to Mas d'en Vaquer on your right and continue straight ahead. When you reach a tarmac road, turn right for about 100 metres, then turn right again to reach the first battle site. In a clearing on the left, several signs provide information about the course of events.

(3) Continue along the road, following the yellow markings.

(4) Continue straight ahead to quickly reach the second site, at Pla del Rei: superb view of the Roussillon valley where, on a clear day, you can see the sea. If you do this hike in winter, you will see the entire snow-covered Canigou mountain range.

(5) Continue along the path, at the four-way junction, continue left for 150 m.

(6) Turn right onto the path: be careful on the descent as it is eroded in places. There are numerous signposts along the route. You will arrive at Còrrec de Sant-Luc.

(7) After the fords, turn right onto the track along the Valmagne for about 400 metres.

(8) Cross a ford over the Valmagne, leave Mas d'en Bosc on your right and continue straight ahead, making a circular loop to go around the hamlet. Then head north-west. You will come to a fork at Collada de Sant-Lluc.

(9) Take the right-hand fork (north). Then turn right to climb up to the Sant-Luc Chapel, an ideal spot for a bite to eat while admiring the landscape.

(10) Continue to follow the yellow markings. Turn left at the next junction to rejoin the tarmac road (elevation 178) and follow it to the right towards Passa. Cross two successive road bridges and, 100 m further on, you will come to a fork.

(11) Leave the road and take the path (south) that climbs to the right towards Serrat de la Vinya: there are no markings, so follow the GPS track. Continue straight ahead through the vineyards to reach a track that crosses Garriga de les Pedres.

(12) Turn left, then turn right to return to the first fork you passed on the way there.

(1) Turn left and return to the car park (S/E).

A pleasant, easy and very interesting hike about the Battle of Le Boulou.
Beautiful 360° views.
It's a shame that part of the hike is on a small road, but fortunately it's not very busy.
You do need to have the route mapped out as there are no signposts.

A very pleasant hike with little elevation gain, making it easy.
Beautiful landscapes and views with little-known history, the war between the French and Spanish in 1794.
A wonderful experience, enjoyable in every way.
