Starting point: Chemin des Puits car park on the D22 towards Cremps.
(S/E) With your back to the car park, carefully cross the D22, then head towards Chemin des Puits, walking alongside these private wells, which are a reminder of a time when running water did not exist. At the end of the path, turn right and join the D10.
(1) Cross the D10 carefully, take Rue de la Petite École alongside the restored wells and, at the crossroads, continue straight on, passing close to the town hall, leaving the war memorial on your left and, about 250 m further on, join a path on the right.
(2) Take this wide, stony path that runs alongside a "manor house". At thefirst intersection, turn left and walk alongside a truffle farm with several rural heritage buildings, including two shepherd's huts diagonally opposite each other and a "pile of stones" which is actually a gariotte. This served as a refuge for a villager who refused to join the STO (Compulsory Work Service) during theSecond World War. Continue straight ahead, ignoring thefirst intersection with a path on the left.
(3) Take the hairpin bend onto this small path on the left. It zigzags down to the bottom of the valley, nicknamed the "Fox Trail" because of its many burrows. Turn left and, on the way, make a round trip to a natural spring on the hillside. In the past, water was drawn from here to water a vegetable garden cultivated in the valley. Emptied in the evening, the spring would be full again the next day.
(4) Arrive at the haven of serenity that is the Fontaine de Combe Nègre. There, you have two options:
1) Follow the path on the left. This is a short route that returns to the village straight ahead via the Route de Combe Nègre, after making a detour to the left to see a gariotte (stone hut) that has been restored in an unusual way.
2) Continue along the route marked on the map, heading straight ahead towards the bend in the road. Take the right-hand turn and continue to the next crossroads.
(5) At the fork, take the small country road to Laboussière on the left. After the left-hand bend, leave Labouissière on your left and continue along the road. Further on, it turns left, heading north-east to the junction with the Ourtriols road.
(6) At the fork, turn right and descend towards the Lavoir d'Ourtriols. Note the stone on your left, painted by artists as part of the embellishment of the Way of St James by the Causses du Quercy Regional Park.
Then return to theGR®65trail, which climbs gently to the Chemin de Saint Jacques rest stop. Cross the Route de Lalbenque with caution and continue for about 100 metres.
(7) Leave theGR® by taking the Sentier du Fargayras on the left. Continue straight ahead through the woods heading north, then at a left-hand bend leave the Chemin de la Grèze and continue to the next left-hand bend at Mas de Sabrié.
(8) Descend to the right towards the Fontaine du Fraysse fountain, which has a well and a small cement wash house. At the top of the path, turn left, then right. About 150 metres further on, turn right onto Chemin du Barry to return to the starting point at the Chemin des Puits car park (S/E).
