Departure in front of the church in Escamps (plenty of parking available in the village).
(S/E) With your back to the church, turn right and join a road (calvary) on the left. Turn left at the first intersection (calvary). Continue along this road for 800 metres, ignoring a small road on the left.
(1) At the crossroads near a wash house, turn right and then left at the fork, towards Mas de Fraysse. You are now on the iris trail (magical when in bloom...). Follow this small road which runs alongside beautiful restored houses and continue on the right for about 400 metres, passing a path on the bend.
(2) At a T-junction, leave the road on the right and take the white gravel path on the left, following it until you reach a fork. Then follow the path on the left straight ahead (ignore a path on the left) until you reach a large crossroads. Turn left and go downhill until you reach a road (D22).
(3) Cross this road and continue straight ahead on the dirt track that descends. Immediately ignore a path on the right and a path on the left and continue straight ahead. Ignore another path on the right, take the next one (still on the right) and pass in front of a beautiful gariotte (on your left on the path). Continue climbing (viewpoint over Poux Blanc when you turn around).
(4) Please note: take the first path on the left, leaving the main path that leads to Cremps, and continue straight ahead, ignoring the paths on either side. Pass in front of an original gate that encloses a park where a small house has been restored. Continue straight ahead and at a T-junction, turn right, passing in front of a beautiful restored house (bread oven and low wall) on your right and a small pond on your left.
(5) When you reach a crossroads, ignore the two paths on your right and the path on your left and continue straight ahead. At the next crossroads, be sure to turn left (house) and go down into the undergrowth (ruins) towards the truffle fields. Follow the well-marked path for 1 km to reach a road.
(6) Turn right and follow the road for 150 metres. Take the path on the left that climbs up alongside a truffle field on the right.
(7) Leave the main path, turn left and descend into the Combe des Valses. Pass a path on your right and then follow the dry Valses stream on your right. Climb back up towards the plateau and ignore a path on your left. Follow the main path, passing meadow entrances and a path on your right that comes to an end, and continue for about 500 metres. Pass a path on your left and continue to the hamlet of La Placette Haute.
(8) Cross the small road and continue straight ahead, passing the restaurant "Le Clos Caché" on your right. Head back up towards a cobbled path and turn left at the T-junction. When you reach a road, turn right and follow it for about 150 metres.
(9) Don't miss the path on the left (walnut tree). Take it and walk along a beautiful stone wall (remains of the castle walls) to arrive straight at the village on a small square. Turn left into Rue du Fort to reach the church of Escamps (S/E).
