To reach the starting point of the Ginouilhac route, marked with the code M2, park at the entrance to the hamlet of Ginouilhac. The road leading to this hamlet is a dead end.
(S/E) Leaving via the upper part of the hamlet, take the tarmac road towards Martiel for about 1 km.
(1) At the entrance to Jammes, follow the small road to the left towards La Motte. The upper section of this road offers a commanding view and allows you to see the mound (suspected to be a motte-and-bailey castle) of La Motte.
Once in the hamlet, turn right onto the dirt track towards Barbat. On this stretch, you’ll find a fountain and a wash house.
(2) At the end of this path, turn left towards the hamlet of Barbat, then immediately take the dirt track climbing up on the left-hand side of the road.
.(3) Halfway up the slope, turn right onto the path without a hedge on the right-hand side (field edge). Go straight on past the junction with a footpath. The route continues as a ‘natural tunnel path’; from its flat upper section, look to your left for the view of Ginoulhac. Continue to a tarmac road, which you take on your right to the hamlet of Camp del Bosc.
(4) Just after the hamlet, take the first path on the left and continue straight on to Espayrous.
On your left is the Chapel of Baron Alibert.
(5) Continue along the tarmac road to the bottom of the hill and, at the junction with the road to Marin, take this road on the left.
(6) A good hundred metres further on, take the path on your right leading up towards Ginouilhac. Once on the road, turn left to cross the hamlet and return to the starting point (S/E).
