Car park at the Martiel village hall.
(S/E) Head north towards the village centre, cross the street at the pedestrian crossing and walk past the tower. Go down the alley on the left and you will reach a triangular crossroads at the foot of the church.
(1) Turn right as you exit the fortified gate. Cross the D911 and follow it to the left for about 300 metres. When the road turns left (cross), turn right onto the road leading to the Margues Wood dolmens. Ignore a turn-off on the left (cross) and turn right with the road.
(2) Take thefirst path on the right. Walk along a stream on your right, then cross it. At the three-way junction that follows, turn left.
(3) At the next crossroads, turn right. Ignore a turn-off on the left and continue to the hamlet of Mathet. Turn right/left onto the tarmac road to continue along a path. Cross the D76 and follow it to the right for about 20 metres.
(4) Turn left and cross the hamlet of Massar. At a fork, take the left-hand road. Walk eastwards, ignoring the turnings on either side, and cross the hamlet of Jammes. Ignore a road on the right and continue to Le Trep, where you should ignore the lane leading to a farm.
(5) Shortly afterwards, turn right onto a path that runs alongside the farm buildings on the right-hand side. At the next junction, turn right. Join a small tarmac road and follow it south-east. Pass the hamlet of La Motte and continue south on a dirt track leading to the Barbat fountain.
(6) Continue south-east along the path. Join a road and follow it to the right. When it turns left, leave the road and take a dirt track on the right. Shortly afterwards, when the track turns right, continue straight ahead (south-west) on a path not shown on the map. This will take you to the Quillou fountain. Continue along the path, cross a stream and join a tarmac road.
(7) Turn right and follow the road for a long way until you reach the hamlet of Massar. At the crossroads, follow the D76 to the left for about 150 m.
(8) Take a path on the left (not shown on the map) and you will soon reach the Fontaine de Pleyjan. Retrace your steps.
(8) Continue on the D76 to the left until you reach Pleyjan. At the crossroads, turn right into the hamlet. Pass a path on the right, a road coming from the left and another path on the right. Continue along the road to Pierrat.
(9) At the crossroads, turn left and follow a tarmac path to Calmels. At the fork, turn right. At the end of the tarmac section, continue along a shaded path (not shown on the map). You will reach the back of Martiel public school.
(10) Turn left and walk along the car park behind the school. At the T-junction, turn right. Cross the D911 and continue straight ahead, leaving the town hall on your right. Immediately take thefirst left. At the next junction, turn right. Continue straight ahead to the village hall (S/E).
