Park on Route des Colles, just past the Les Chappes roundabout, opposite Chemin de Vallauris.
(S/E) The start is at Signpost No. 29, Les Chappes. Follow the signs for Moulin Neuf. You will walk along a small shaded path that leads you to Signpost No. 22, ‘Quartier Funel’ (10 mins).
Continue along the same path to your right. The path follows a contour line then widens as it winds around the hill. It eventually joins the Route des Colles, running alongside it at a bend lined with a parapet of tree trunks. You will then come within sight of Signpost No. 23, ‘La Vieille Route’ (25 mins). Follow the signs for ‘Biot’.
(1) After this bend, immediately turn right onto a small path that heads back into the woods, quickly widening and soon reaching the edge of a circular section of the old road. Take the small path opposite which leads to Signpost No. 24, ‘La Carrière de Sable’ (30 mins). Follow the signs for ‘Moulin Neuf’ (opposite the road). You will reach the Route des Colles.
(2) Cross it and head up the path opposite, between the rockroses, which widens. The path moves away from the road below and forms a very tight hairpin bend. You’ll have a lovely view of the Saint-Philippe neighbourhood as you approach. This path ends at a forest gate and leads onto the tarmac road known as the ‘Chemin de Vallauris’ (55 mins). Head up the Chemin de Vallauris on the left and return to your starting point, Signpost No. 29, Les Chappes (S/E).
