Chemin de Beauce et Gatinais from Aulnay-la-Rivière

Parking is available in the church square. This is the starting point for the hike.

Yellow markings

(S/E) With your back to the square, take the D26 on the right towards Pithiviers.

(1) After 50 metres, at the crossroads, take the D25 on the left. Cross the Essonne river in front of the Moulin de la Charmille.

(2) At the entrance to La Neuville-sur-Essonne, at the Y-junction, turn right onto Rue Pourtour Nord and continue for 800 metres. At a crossroads, turn left onto Ruelle de Guicherie to join the GR®32.

(3) When you reach the village square, cross the D25 with caution and continue along Ruelle des Barrières. Pass the Fontaine Saint-Amand fountain on your left.

(4) At the end, turn left and join the road towards Ondreville-sur-Essonne, continuing straight ahead at the crossroads.

(5) Pass in front of the Macheron farm and reach a crossroads.

(6) Take the path on the left.

(7) At the end, you will arrive at La Groue. Turn right to reach the centre of Ondreville.

(8) At Place des Tilleuls, take the street on the left and then the one on the right to arrive in front of the church.

(9) Take the street on the right, pass in front of the village hall, then turn left at the low wall and reach the Puiseaux road (D26). Cross it carefully , walking 200 metres straight ahead.

(10) Turn left at the crossroads and drive through the hamlet of Foussereau. Continue straight on until you reach the hamlet of Châtillon.

(11) At the three-way junction, turn left onto Rue du Marais de Châtillon.

(12) Turn onto the first road on the left, towards Francorville. Pass in front of the mill and cross the Essonne river.

(13) Walk up to the Francorville farm. Note its imposing dovecote. Go around the farm by taking the grassy path on the right. This path descends and then climbs again at the edge of the woods.

(14) The path descends again and climbs at a right angle on the left, along a pine forest. Continue straight on to the D25.

(15) Cross it carefully. At the^first fork, turn left and after 50 metres, turn right. At the first crossroads, go straight ahead.

(16) At the three-way junction, go left to the edge of the woods. Follow the Sentier du Buisson Rouge and reach a crossroads.

(17) Take the first path on the right to climb back up to the plateau. Stay along the edge of the woods, where the path zigzags.

(18) At the end, at the intersection, continue climbing, turning left.

(19) At the end, take the track on the right, then the one on the left to head towards the imposing Grange sur Briarres farm (an old fortified farm).

(20) Pass in front of the Grange and continue through the fields. At the end, turn left and then immediately right. At the end, turn left again and then take the first right.

(21) Turn and head downhill to the left through the Vallée de l'Enfer.

(22) At the crossroads, continue straight ahead to join the tarmac road to a place called Le Paradis.

(23) At the left-hand bend, turn right at the hairpin bend to climb back up to the plateau. Cross the tarmac road and continue to a crossroads.

(24) Turn onto the first track on the left. Descend into Aulnay-la-Rivière.

(25) At the end, turn right onto Rue du Stade.

(26) When you reach a bend, keep left. At the intersection, take the street on the left and then, at the end, turn right onto Rue de l'Église. You will arrive at the church square (S/E).

Alternative route: at Francorville farm, continue straight ahead. Cross the D25 (take care!). Continue straight ahead until you reach the woods. At the end, turn left. At the intersection, turn left. At the end, keep left on the tarmac road. Just after the woods, take the path on the right that runs alongside them. After the Montagne de la Justice, rejoin the tarmac road to find the path that comes from the Vallée de l'Enfer.

Please note that as the route follows agricultural paths, the yellow markings are sometimes absent in the fields due to a lack of supports. It is essential to obtain a map of the route before starting the hike.

Wear hiking boots as some sections may be wet, depending on the season.
