Departure from Barr - Holtzplatz car park.
Cross Barr on the RD 854 towards Mont Sainte-Odile. The car park is on the right-hand side of the road, just before the "Les reflets du Mont Sainte-Odile" campsite.

(S/E) From the car park, head uphill towards the Fontaine Laquiante.
After a few metres, the path climbs slightly to the right, still close to the road. Continue until you reach La Pépinière.
(1) Stay on the path opposite (ignore the paths on the right that go into the forest).
This joins the D854. Follow it for a few metres until you reach a large hairpin bend.
(2) At this bend, continue straight ahead. You will arrive at the start of the former Barr railway path, with an information board.
Follow the paved road along the Kirneck. Pass the Fontaine Laquiante (on your left), then the small Chalet du Pfostenhiesel. Join a forest path on your right.

(3) Leave the road and take this path on the right. Pass a spring catchment.
Near a wild boar feeding station, the trail makes a large loop and turns completely to the left. It continues straight ahead on a gentle slope. After a bend, pass the Cossuta fountain under a spring catchment. Further on, cross a paved road and continue straight ahead towards Breitmatt.
(4) When you reach a path, continue left, then after a few metres, turn right towards Birkenfels, following the green circle signs. You will arrive at the RD426 at a place called Breitmat.
(5) Cross it and continue straight ahead, then turn right (towards Birkenfels).
After the small detour, take the path on the left, marked with a yellow cross for Birkenfels. You will reach a shelter.
(6) Pass on the left to make a round trip to Birkenfels Castle.
Retrace your steps back to the shelter.
(6) With your back to the shelter, follow the forest path to the left, marked with a blue cross towards Mont Sainte-Odile.
(7) Further on, leave this wide path and climb a trail on the right, marked with a yellow cross towards Carrefour de la Bloss.
At the Col du Kienberg, the trail runs to the left of the road, marked with a blue circle, and joins the Carrefour de la Bloss.
(8) Go to the bus stop and cross the road. Continue opposite, following the red disc signs towards Kiosque Jadelot.
(9) At the three-way junction, stay on the middle path. You will arrive at the Kiosque Jadelot, which has a platform offering a beautiful view.

After the kiosk, continue towards Château du Landsberg. After a few metres, stay on the left-hand path. Cross the D109 at La Handschab and continue straight ahead.

(10) At the crossroads near a house, turn right towards Landsberg. Pass in front of the house and follow the signs for "entrée du château" (castle entrance).
Return to the foot of the castle and turn right towards Holtzplatz. Further down, continue straight ahead (towards Holtzplatz). Cross a forest path and continue straight ahead until the next intersection at Sentier des Chameaux.
(11) Follow it to the right, following the blue triangle signs towards Kienberg until the next intersection.
(12) Turn sharply left, following the red cross signs towards Carrefour Muller Apfel.
Cross a forest road and continue straight ahead.
(13) Further down, turn right towards Holtzplatz to reach the Carrefour Émile Muller Apfel (look for the blue disc sign and follow it until you reach your destination). Further down, cross another forest road at the Luttenbach crossroads, continue straight ahead and pass close to the Rocher du Jugement.
(14) Before the stream, the trail turns left to return to the Holtzplatz car park (S/E).
