This very short route takes you along a small section of the Mur Païen, then past the Grotte des Druides and the site of the Air Inter Airbus 320 crash on 20 January 1992. This easy walk is an excellent way for anyone wishing to learn how to use mobile GPS tracking.

Description of the walk

Park your vehicle in the Tumuli car park located on the D426 between Mont Sainte-Odile and the Bloss crossroads.

(S/E) Take the path marked with a red ring that leads uphill. Stay on this path, which runs alongside the Mur Païen, and do not follow the small forest road on the left, which will be the return route. Arrive at the Grotte des Druides.

(1) Explore these rocks, then continue on, turning slightly to the left. You will then come to a fork in the path.

(2) Take the left fork, marked with a red disc, to the site of the 1992 plane crash, marked by a memorial stone. An information panel at this site recounts the disaster.

(3) Pass in front of the Three Watchers of the site (stele) and continue to another fork in the road.

(4) Take the downhill path marked with a red disc to the next fork.

(5) Follow the path on the left, marked with a yellow disc, to reach the car park (S/E).
