The Sentier des Merveilles starting from Mont Sainte-Odile

The walk starts at the lower car park of the sanctuary.

(S/E) Take the path to the right of the information sign (Yellow Cross) which leads towards the sanctuary. Then keep to the right and continue in the same direction for 500 to 600 metres until you reach the junction.

(1) Turn left and cross the large clearing, Grossmatt, situated below Mont Sainte-Odile.

(2) At the bottom of the clearing, continue to the left (marked with a Red Rectangle crossed out in white) then turn right. Walk past the Rocher du Stollhafen.

(3) At the junction after Stollhaffen, take the path marked with a Yellow Saltire on the right; this is the Sentier des Merveilles. Follow this path to a junction.

(4) At the junction, continue to the right, still on the Sentier des Merveilles but this time following the Blue Saltire signposts to the Rochers des Géants.

(5) At the Rochers des Géants, at the junction, the path climbs to the left towards the Hexenplatz. Head straight on at the junction before reaching another one.

(6) Head down to the right towards the Elsberg kiosk.

(7) For the return journey, take the same Blue Saltire trail in the opposite direction.

(6) At the junction, turn right onto the Red Rectangle with White Bar path towards the North Gate of the Pagan Wall. Continue straight on towards Stollhafen.

(8) Near Stollhafen, turn right then left to take the Yellow Saltire path which climbs along the Mur Païen to the lower car park (S/E).
