The start is at the abbey car park, the centre of Baume-les-Messieurs.
(S/E) From the car park, turn right onto Rue des Grands Jardins. Keep left at the junction with Rue de Crancot, then take the second path on the left after the town hall to cross the Seille.
.(1) Continue left through the village heading south, following the Seille. Walk on until the second path on the right. Take this path, passing to the right of a chapel. Cross the stream (the Dard), which you follow along the left bank with its many small waterfalls. At the ford, turn right towards the Tufs waterfall.
(2) Return to the ford via the same route and follow a path on the left, with steps to the right of the waterfall. Cross a bridge over the river.
(3) Continue to the left of a building, descending slightly to cross the tarmac road.
(4) Just opposite, take a path leading up to the Échelles de Crançot. Keep to the right until you reach the Belvédère des Roches on the road.
(5) Then turn back and continue straight on along the road to the junction at a bend.
(6) Continue to the left: towards Crois de Suchot (PR®®). Further on, keep left to reach a large private table, which the owner has made available to respectful members of the public.
(7) Return to the junction and turn left. Follow the yellowPR®® markings, passing an intersection and then walking along a cliff. Keep to the right until you are close to the road. Continue straight on at the next intersection until you reach a crossroads.
(8) Head left to the Croix de Suchot.
(9) Then return to the junction by the same route.
(8) Turn left, then left again onto the tarmac road until you reach the start of a path.
(10) Keep left to follow a steeply descending path: in wet weather, watch out for slippery patches. You will arrive at Baumes-les-Messieurs; cross the imposing abbey to return to the car park (start/end).
