Description of the walk

The starting point is at a place called l’Étang de Régnier in Saulnières. Park on the verge, keeping your car on the same side of the road to keep the way clear.

(S/E) Head north via the Circuit des Charmes. You’ll come to a star-shaped junction.

(1) Take the second path on the right to reach the purple schist menhir known as ‘la Roche aux Fées’.

(2) Turn round and head back to the crossroads.

(1) Turn left and carry on straight ahead until you reach the tarmac-surfaced local road. Turn left to head towards Lossac, leaving the Circuit des Charmes behind.

(3) Carry on straight ahead to cross the hamlet.

(4) Take the path on the left, heading north. Then turn right at a 90° angle to join the RD93.

(5) Follow the departmental road southwards for about 150 m: take care, as there is heavy traffic. Head left, towards the hamlets of Le Bois de Brie, La Chicaudais, Heulin and Les Rues Neuves. At this point, there is a possible shortcut (-1.4 km) by continuing straight on along the RD93 to rejoin the route described at (7). Don’t miss the bread ovens along the local road, including a pair side by side at the hamlet known as Les Rues Neuves.

(6) Turn right towards Saulnières and rejoin the RD93 at the hamlet of La Croix.

(7) Cross the road again with the same caution and continue straight ahead. Pass through Lossac and rejoin the Route des Charmes.

(3) Turn left, cross the Ruisseau de Bouvon and arrive at Bois Lejard

(8) Turn right for about 150 m, then turn left onto the local track. You’ll reach a T-junction.

(9) Turn right and head towards Les Régniers.

(10) Cross the road, walk along the pond on your left and reach the car park (S/E).
