Park in the Place de l'Ouillette car park.
(S/E) Cross Boulevard Duguesclin carefully using the pedestrian crossing and turn right until you reach the roundabout. Cross Rue du Chemin Vers carefully and turn right for 25 metres, then take the footpath on the left. Follow this path, which runs along an old railway line, to the next roundabout. Go around the roundabout and take the path opposite, which runs alongside Boulevard du Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny. When you reach Impasse du Moulin de la Roche, turn left, then 50 m further on, go down the path towards the River Vendée.
(1) Go under the bridge over the river and follow the path along the river, with vegetable gardens on your left. Take the slight fork to the left before reaching Rue du Canal and turn right. At the end of the street, turn right, then after 50 metres, turn left onto Rue du Four, which leads to Rue des Loges, with a sheltered section. Turn right towards Pont des Sardines, then just before the bridge, turn left onto Quai Sébastien Coli. At the end of the quay, cross Place du Marronnier and take the footbridge. Walk along the market halls, cross the square and take the street opposite.
(2) Cross Place Belliard, admire the façades and arcades, go up to the left, take the street on the right, at the end go down Rue Gaston Guillement then take the second left, Rue de la Fontaine.
(3) At the Fontaine des Quatre Tias fountain, go up Rue Goupilleau on the left. At the top of the street, take the cul-de-sac on the right and at the end you will find a small gate leading to Parc Baron. Follow the path that goes up to the right in a hairpin bend.
(4) At Parc Baron, follow the path that goes around the park on the right. Exit the park onto Rue Émile Boutin, which goes uphill and joins Rue André Tiraqueau. Keep left and go down Rue Gaston Guillemet on the left until you reach Notre-Dame Church. Turn right in front of the church.
(5) At Notre-Dame Church, cross Place du137e RI towards the steps of Place Viète. Cross Rue de Crévillante with caution and climb the steps to reach Place Viète.
(6) Cross Place Viète on the right to reach the fountain, then return on the left and pass in front of the kiosk. Cross Rue Du Département with caution and take Rue Cavoleau opposite. At the end of the street, go up Rue Bélesbat on the right, then turn left onto Rue Barnabé Brisson. At the next intersection, go down Rue Jarnigande.
(7) At the entrance to Château de Terre-Neuve with a view of Tour Rivalland, continue down Rue Nicolas Rapin, then turn right onto Rue du Petit Bot, then right again after 10 metres and opposite Rue des Cordeliers until you reach the next fork.
(8) At the entrance gate to the Town Hall garden with the doctor's surgery on the left-hand corner, follow the garden path on the left, then at the end, turn right and cross the car park to exit onto Rue Collardeau. On the street, turn right and then immediately left onto Chemin des Écoliers. At the end, cross and turn left onto Rue Pierre Lamy, follow it on the right-hand side until you reach Quai Victor Hugo. Cross the street carefully and join the footbridge.
(9) Take the footbridge, then turn right onto Quai Poey d'Avant, which is partly built of wood. At the roundabout, turn right, then immediately left to cross the Pont du Chail bridge carefully at the pedestrian crossing, which you will follow on the left-hand side. At the end of the bridge, turn left and take the path that runs alongside the river. Enter the Plaine des Sports site. Follow this path to the second footbridge located just before the water treatment plant.
(10) Cross the river via the footbridge, turn left at the exit and follow the river until you reach the next footbridge. At this intersection, take the road on the right, Rue des Tilleuls, then a footpath on the right until you reach an old car park. Continue along the car park with an old fire station on your right.
(11) Carefully cross Avenue François Mitterrand at the pedestrian crossing and follow the footpath opposite. This footpath follows a stream, Le Seillot, initially on the left and then on the right. At the end of the footpath, turn right.
(12) Go up to the left to reach a path along the old railway line. Follow this path to the end, cross Rue des 3 Cheminots and continue to the René Cassin Cultural Centre. Walk past the cultural centre and along the car park at the end. Cross Boulevard Duguesclin with extreme caution. Arrive at Place Viète and head for the Place de l'Ouillette car park (S/E).
