Coming from Aubenas, the car park is on the right-hand side of the RN102, just before the start of the climb, at the foot of a large cross, after the first junction towards the hamlet of Ville.
(S/E) Leave the car park via the road that descends towards the hamlet and immediately turn left onto a road parallel to the N102. At the dead end sign, turn right, cross the Combe Chaude stream and continue along a path that climbs alongside the Tour stream.
(1) At the first crossroads, when you reach the plateau, turn left towards the north-east. Continue along the path that goes around the hill and gradually heads south. You will come to a three-way junction.
(2) Turn right, continue along the path that climbs the hill and arrive at a small pass. Ignore the paths to the right and left and continue straight downhill.
(3) Ignore the path on the left and continue straight ahead, ignoring the paths on the right and left. Enter the forest and pass a signpost. Note the large hole on the right of the path, which is the karstic cave of the Baume du Bois.
(4) About 50 metres after the karstic cave, leave the path and the white-yellow markings and take a path on the right.
(5) After passing a small pond on the right, you will come to a three-way junction (not shown on the map) and turn right. About a hundred metres further on, at a four-way crossroads, turn sharply left.
Pass an old quarry. Continue, turning right twice to reach the hamlet of Les Chazes. You will find white-yellow markings there.
(6) When you reach the cross, continue along the road on the right. Do not take the first marked path on the right. Continue and, after the rubbish bins, take a second path marked in white and yellow (Sentier des Gras) on the right.
At the top of the hill, turn left then right, following the markings carefully.
After passing a path on the left, you will arrive at the Saint-Cerice cross.
(7) Turn right onto the Traverse de Saint Cerice, ignoring the white-yellow cross. When you reach another marked path, take it to the left. You will come to another crossroads.
(8) Leave the signposts again, which continue straight ahead and lead directly to the chapel.
Turn right and cross a small bridge to reach the old Giraud quarry. Cross the quarry. On the ridge to the left, a path leads back to the Saint-Cerice Chapel, offering a beautiful view of the castle and village of Vogüé.
(9) From the chapel, descend via a good path to the village. After a left turn, join the Allée du Château.
(10) Take this street on the right, pass by the cemetery and climb up to the right onto Chemin des Tomples.
Pass by a ruined hamlet, leave a dead-end path on your left and arrive on the plateau where you join a wide path.
(11) Turn left onto this path. At the next two crossroads, keep left and continue along the path that runs along the ridge overlooking the Ardèche valley.
(12) After going around a small valley, at the top of a climb, take a path on the left. This path is marked as a dead end on the IGN map, but it continues along a well-marked trail.
After a viewpoint on the edge of the cliff (watch out for children), you will arrive at the Tour de Ville, the remains of an ancient fortified castle. Continue down the path until you reach an electric fence.
(13) Turn right and follow the fence along a path that goes around the hill, crosses the Tour stream and rejoins the path you took on the way up.
Turn left onto this path to return to the road leading to the car park (S/E).
