Circular mountain bike route from Quissac to admire some of the restored structures on the greenway from Quissac to Sumène. Tunnels and viaduct between Sumène and Ganges and the Saint-Hyppolite-du-Fort viaduct. Note the beautiful structure with its segmental arch at the entrance to Sumène.

Description of the route

Departure from Quissac station, Avenue de la Gare.

(S/E) Join the D35 and, at the roundabout, turn left onto Impasse du Grand Chêne, then onto the greenway.

(1) At the three-way junction, turn right onto the V70.

(2) Cross the departmental road with caution, continue on the greenway and reach the V3001 in Lézan.

(3) Turn left and follow the V3001 to Anduze Gare.

(4) Turn left, then quickly turn right onto Chemin de la Figuière. Continue along Chemin de Madame Anduze until it ends.

(5) Turn left, then right onto Chemin de Fraisal and, at the three-way junction, keep left. Continue straight ahead until you find Chemin des Lauriers on the right.

(6) Take this road, then continue along a track until you reach the top of the hill. Turn left onto the road and continue to the next junction.

(7) Leave the tarmac and take the track on the right, then continue along the road. At the next junction, turn right (D133) and reach Chemin de Cabridiès on the left. Follow this to the hamlet of Cabridiès.

(8) Continue straight ahead, climb following the GR® markings and reach the tarmac road at the hamlet of La Baraque.

(9) Turn left (D133) and arrive at the junction with the D21.

(10) Turn right onto this road towards Vabres, then take Chemin de Massane on the left and follow this road to the end of Chemin de l'Ayrolle.

(11) Continue to the right, cross the Pont de Ribou bridge, then turn onto the path on the right.

(12) At Le Bruguier, ignore the tarmac road and continue on the marked path to the right. At the road, turn right and you will soon reach a crossroads.

(13) Take the path (GR®) opposite and reach No. 145 at La Caussière.

(14) Turn right, still on the GR®. At the road, continue right to the Col du Rédarès.

(15) At the roundabout, take the third exit,D185A, and follow this road. Continue on the D185 and head for Colognac town hall.

(16) Immediately afterwards, turn right and continue straight ahead until you reach the crossroads after the last houses.

(17) Turn left downhill, then continue along a path (GR®).

(18) At the crossroads, first turn right then left and continue on the GR® to Col des Fossés.

(19) Leave the GR® and continue to the left. At the next fork, keep left and follow the path to a road. Follow it to the left and arrive at Col de la Pierre Plantée.

(20) Continue along the road opposite, then quickly turn right onto the DFCI G12 track. At the three-way junction, keep left, climb up to the ridge and follow it to a crossroads, a few metres after passing between two water reservoirs.

(21) Continue left and follow this small road (D153A) to the hamlet of Les Lieures. Cross the old railway bridge, then turn right immediately and join the cycle path just after the rubbish bins.

(22) Turn right, go through the tunnel, pass in front of Sumène station and continue to a roundabout.

(23) Continue straight ahead on Rue des Iris and carry on until you reach the cycle path. Follow it to the Saint-Hyppolite-du-Fort viaduct.

(24) Cross over and continue on the greenway to Quissac station, Avenue de la Gare (S/E).
