Naucelle–Sauveterre-de-Rouergue circular loop

Start from the Place de l’Église in Naucelle Centre.

(S/E) Take the D997 towards Sauveterre-de-Rouergue and turn left at the end of the car park onto Rue du 19 Mars 1962. At the end of this street, turn right and walk alongside the sports ground.

(1) Turn right and walk past the swimming pool, then turn left at the cemetery onto the D83. At the junction, follow the D83 to the right towards La Salvetat-Payrales for about 500 metres.

(2) Turn onto the gravel track on the right and continue straight on until you reach the^first 90° turn on the left, which leads to a tarmac road.

(3) Turn right onto this road, go straight through the hamlet of Soulages and continue to the edge of the woods.

(4) At the end of the tarmac road, at the edge of the woods, take the path on the left and follow it down into the forest.

(5) At the bend, before leaving the woods, take the path on the right which leads down towards the stream (signposted ‘Nigron’).

(6) About halfway up the slope, take the path on the right again, which runs above the stream, to cross it at the stone ford and head back up to the road.

(7) Follow the road to the right and, at the junction, do not cross the bridge.

(8) Turn left onto the path leading uphill and follow it straight on until you reach the Albagnac path.

(9) Take the path to the right to go downhill and cross the stream before winding your way up the other side to the D71 road. Follow it to the right, pass the cemetery and arrive in Sauveterre.

(10) Head to the centre of the village, towards Place des Arcades via Rue Saint-Jean on the right. Cross the square and head towards the church. Go round it via a small alleyway on the left and join the ring road.

(11) Turn right, then take the first left; after about 150 metres, at the bend, just past the low wall of the house, take the small path on the right which leads down into the woods to a stony track; follow this to the left to reach the sports complex.

(12) Before the sports ground, turn right, cross the ford and head up into the woods along the path on the left. Then turn right and continue until you reach the road.

(13) At the road, turn left, then, after about 300 metres, take the^first path on the right which leads into the woods and head down to the Montrou stream.

(14) Follow the stream to the left. At Moulin de Gary, take the path on the left, then the one on the right 200 metres further on. Continue to follow the stream and, after a good kilometre, cross it to the right and head back up to the hamlet of La Clairie.

(15) Join the D524 road and turn right towards Quincet.

(16) Pass through Quincet, veering slightly to the left, and continue along the road to the entrance to Naucelle. Pass the water tower on your left and head back towards the church via the^{third street} on the left to reach the Place de l’Église (S/E).
