Circular between Lesve, Bioul and Saint-Gérard

The hike takes you through countryside (mostly) and forest (a little) in Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse between the villages of Lesve (municipality of Profondeville), Bioul (municipality of Anhée) and Saint-Gérard (municipality of Mettet).
In addition to nature, the route offers views – or sometimes just glimpses – of Frahan Castle (Lesve), Neffe Castle (private, turrets visible in the woods on the west side as you approach Bioul), Bioul Castle and its vineyards, the old mill and Saint-Gérard de Brogne Abbey.

Notes

There are no shops or picnic tables along the route.
Those allergic to tarmac should refrain from participating, as about a quarter of the route is on tarmac... even if these sections are almost deserted.
Please note that the elevation gain is actually about 100 metres more than the figure automatically calculated and indicated by Visorando.

Worth a visit

Nearby: the abbeys of Maredsous and Maredret, as well as the Molignée valley.
