Description of the walk

Park in the town hall square. Other parking is available near the church, which is very close by.

(S/E) Exit the car park, turn left, pass in front of the church and continue straight on along Route d'Evreux. Pass the cemetery and turn right at the three-way junction.

(1) Leave Chemin des Croix on your right, which will be your return route, and continue straight on Rue des Mareux until you reach the junction at the water treatment plant.

(2) Turn right onto Chemin de la Mare Dodée, following the red and white markings of the GR®222. This will take you to Route de Morsent.

(3) Cross and continue straight ahead, following the GR® markings. Cross part of the Bois de Morsent and then reach the Grandes Bruyères crossroads.

(4) Go straight ahead and follow the GR®.

(5) Leave the GR® trail on your left and continue along the edge of the woods to reach the Évreux bypass construction site (end of 2025-beginning of 2026).

(6) Turn right towards the old cemetery (disused to make way for the bypass) and descend to reach it and walk along it.

(7) Turn right and continue in the same direction along the lower part of the Bois du Roi. Walk alongside the pumping stations.

(8) Head left to go around them, following the edge of the Bois Verdier.

(9) First turn right then left and follow the path between the two wooded areas to rejoin the Route de Morsent.

(10) Turn left for about 100 metres, then turn right onto the first road (CR4) towards a pylon and the waste collection centre.

(11) Continue straight ahead until you reach the crossroads at the corner of Bois de Mareux.

(12) Cross the GR®222, continue opposite at the edge of the woods and rejoin the starting route.

(1) Turn left and continue straight ahead to the car park at the town hall square (S/E).

Notes

This hike will allow you to discover nature (flora and fauna depending on the season).

Bring drinks and snacks as there are no places to buy food or drink along the way.

The waypoint (6) will need to be completed as we are in the Évreux bypass construction zone, where the continuity of the path will need to be restored.
