To reach the start of the hike, take metro line 2 to the "Porte Dauphine" station and take exit 1 (Boulevard Lannes).
(S/E). Go to Porte Dauphine and go around the square on the left, using three successive pedestrian crossings. You will arrive at the foot of the Paris-Dauphine University building (Boulevard Lannes). Turn left onto the boulevard and walk along the university building on your right. At the end, continue across Avenue de Pologne and turn right into Square Robert Schuman. Exit the square at the far end on the left, turn right into the street and take the path opposite that leads to a bridge over the Boulevard Périphérique.
(1) Cross the Boulevard Périphérique. At the crossroads (shelter with a conical roof), take the second path on the left, which quickly joins a wider track that you take on the left (GR® markings). Continue along the track until you reach the end of Lac Inférieur.
(2) First turn right then left to join the old road, now closed to cars (Chemin de Ceinture du Lac Inférieur), keeping the lake on your left. At the fork, leave the ring road and take the right-hand lane (Route de Suresnes). Just after passing Allée Saint-Denis, look for aGR® mark (red and white markings) on a tree on the left.
(3) Take the path on the left and follow theGR®1. Cross a trail and, a little further on, turn right. Cross Route de Suresnes, continue straight ahead and reach the edge of the Longchamp stream. Continue with theGR® and follow the meanders of the stream on your right without crossing it. Cross an asphalt track (bridge on the right, which you do not take), continue along the path and then turn right with theGR® at the next bridge. The path runs alongside a small pond and turns right onto a bridge just before reaching Route de Suresnes. It joins a cycle path, which you take on the left until you reach Route de la Reine Marguerite.
(4) Cross the two roads (Route de Suresnes then Route de la Reine Marguerite) using the pedestrian crossings on your left. Opposite, take a road that is closed to cars (leave theGR® at this point). The road turns to the right and then continues in a straight line. At the end of the straight line, take a path on the right (signposted "Réserve d'oiseaux"). Continue along the path until you reach a road (Allée de Longchamp). Cross at the pedestrian crossing and take a small path opposite, which quickly joins Route de la Longue Queue. Follow this tarmac lane to the right until you reach the entrance gates to Parc de Bagatelle.
Parc de Bagatelle (free entry from October to March, paid entry from April to September) is well worth a visit, which we will not describe here. Allow 1 to 2 hours for the visit (castle, belvedere, rose garden, remarkable trees, caves, etc.).
(5) Cross the car park and continue straight ahead on Route de la Longue Queue until you reach a street (Route du Champ d'Entraînement). Follow the road to the right until you reach the Carrefour de la Porte de Madrid. Go around the crossroads on the right, crossing successively Allée de la Reine Marguerite, the small Route des Lacs à Madrid and finally Avenue du Mahatma Gandhi. Turn right to walk along Avenue du Mahatma Gandhi for a few metres after crossing it and take a left onto a road closed to cars that leads to Mare Saint-James.
(6) Turn right at the Chalet-bar and walk along Mare Saint-James on your left, as close to the water as possible (views of the Vuitton Foundation building). Continue following the lake to the left at its end, walk along the short side of the lake, then leave the lakefront by taking a path on the right that joins a track which you follow to the right for a few metres before crossing Route de la Muette in Neuilly. Take the path opposite, which turns right and leads to the rear of the Vuitton Foundation building. You will reach Avenue du Mahatma Gandhi.
(7) Turn left and walk along the avenue to enjoy the view of the building and admire the "waterfall" in front of it. Retrace your steps.
(7) Cross Avenue du Mahatma Gandhi at the pedestrian crossing near the entrance to the Fondation. Take the small path opposite and you will soon reach a wide track (Route Sablonneuse). Follow this track until you reach the junction with a road (Allée de Longchamp). Cross at the pedestrian crossing and take the track opposite (Route de l'Étoile). A little further on, you will see the equipment for an "open-air gym" on your left. Continue straight ahead until you reach Route de la Porte Dauphine at Porte des Sablons. Turn right to reach Porte Dauphine. Go around the square on the left until you reach Avenue Foch and the metro entrance (S/E).

– and in general the route is considered reliable and well described, so if you can give me specific examples, I'd be happy to improve the description.
