Park at the side of the D48 near the Mont-Gaudichot forest.
(S/E) Take the path on the right that runs alongside the forest. You will reach a Y-junction.
(1) Turn left, following the FFC mountain bike signs, and head into the woods to the Cabane des Chasseurs (Hunters' Cabin) and enjoy the view of Morteau opposite.
(2) Continue left towards Le Rondo until you reach the meadow, then go straight on to reach the fuel pipeline marker.
(3) Turn right, climb the path to the highest point at 1,000 metres (there is a viewpoint along the way) and follow the pipeline marker, then descend to Le Rondot.
(4) Turn right onto the tarmac road towards Derrière le Mont until you reach the first hairpin bend.
(5) Leave the road and turn right onto the stone path towards Louadey, passing in front of the Fontaine aux Bossus. You will reach a Y-junction.
(6) Stay on the stone path. You will reach a crossroads above the sawmill, marked by a stele.
(7) Turn right onto the grassy path that climbs into the woods. Walk until you reach the tarmac road.
(8) Follow it for a few metres and go back up into the woods on the right. From this point, ignore all paths starting on the right or left. At the edge of the woods, you will reach the picnic area, where there is also a reservoir.
(9) Take the track on the right to return to the initial crossroads.
(1) Follow the same route as on the way out to return to the D48 car park near the Mont-Gaudichot forest (S/E).
