Park in the lay-by just past the bridge, at a place called Fount de Sicre.
(S/E) Take Rue du Talc, following the red and white markings ofthe GR®® 107 “Sentier des Cathares”, which runs alongside the Ruisseau de l’Encantat.
(1) At the last houses, leave the tarmac road and follow the path that runs as close as possible to the stream. Pass the Borde de Bas farm, situated on the opposite bank, and reach a junction before arriving at the D909.
(2) Go straight on, staying on the Cathar Trail, cross the departmental road with care, and rejoin the path opposite. Continue along theGR®® to a junction situated south-east of the hamlet of Pigaillous.
(3) Continue straight on until you reach the D9.
(4) Cross carefully, rejoin the path opposite and reach the car park at the foot of the Pog de Montségur.
(5) Begin the climb to visit the ruins of the Cathar castle at Monstégur!
(6) After your visit, head back down to the car park.
(5) Head to the right and, to the north of the car park, find the Sentier des Tisserants, which heads due north. Cross the Ruisseau de la Taillade.
(7) Follow the path on the right to reach Péchiquelle, with the Crête de Madoual visible to the east.
(8) Keep to the left and you’ll come to another junction at a place called Labeur.
(9) Carry straight on to follow the path and head down towards the hamlet known as La Jourdane. Join the access road.
(10) Follow this road, pass the buildings at Freychinadel and continue for about 300 m until you reach an abandoned building on your right.
(11) Take a path on the left. Follow this narrow hillside path to join the access road to Poutou and Peyrot.
(12) Turn right, join the D9, then head for the Fount de Sicre on the right (S/E).
