Description of the walk

Park along the church (Place de l'Église) in the village of Magny.

(S/E) Continue along the main road, heading south towards Route de Marrault (D75), until you reach Pierre Ivoire's farm.

(1) Take the path leading to this farm on the right, then immediately turn left onto the path downhill to Moulin Cadoux (restored and inhabited all year round).

(2) Cross the bridge over the Le Cousin River and continue along the path on the right. Follow the south bank of the river for 2 km until you reach Crot de la Foudre, a small rocky promontory.

(3) Go to the large bridge, then turn around and take the path on the right, along a stream, before the small bridge.

(4) At the intersection, take the track on the left, then the one on the right before the bridge. Continue north-west until you reach a crossroads.

(5) Continue straight ahead until you reach a small road.

(6) Turn right onto this road, towards a place called Les Granges.

(7) In the centre of the hamlet, continue to the right and stay on the road/path for about 600 m.
(8) At the fork, turn right and continue until you reach a road near the Le Cousin river.

(9) Continue left on the road and cross the bridge. Turn right onto the D427 and continue for about 200 m until you reach a path on the right that goes uphill.

(10) Take this path and, after about 300 m, turn left onto the path that runs alongside a field. At the next junction, go straight ahead to cross a wood.

(11) At the exit, turn left and continue to the crossroads further on.

(12) Take the track on the left, pass a water treatment plant, and you will come out onto the D427.

(13) Turn right, walk past the town hall and return to the starting point (S/E).

The first part up to Pierre Ivoire isn't particularly interesting, but after the fork in the road it's perfect, going from forest to river and bocage.
A very pleasant walk
