Park in the upper car park of Cabasse Castle to the east of the town of Miramas.
Note: this hike follows routes with different markings. I recommend using the app with GPS enabled. This route crosses several roads, so please be careful.
(S/E) Descend towards the château and the playground, following the red markings. Pass between all the buildings, keeping to the left. Go through a metal gate, then take the path on the right. At the wooden fence, leave the red markings and take the path on the right, marked in yellow, until you reach the small tarmac road.
(1) Leave the yellow markings and take the road on the left until you reach the sign for "Chemin de Mauscastéou". At the barrier, follow theGR®13 trailto the right, marked in yellow and red, along the canal until you reach the road. Follow theGR® trail to the left, crossing a barrier and taking a path on the right a little further on. You will arrive at the Jas du Pape sheepfold.
(2) Leave theGR® and continue straight ahead. Cross the olive grove, keeping to the right until you reach the small road. Follow it to the left, then cross the D16d departmental road and continue straight ahead until you reach a fork.
(3) At the signposts, turn right towards "small pass de la Garde par les crêtes". Now follow the yellow markings until you return to the Cabasse car park.
(4) At the second signpost, cross the D70b road and continue, following the yellow markings, to the small pass of the Garde.
(5) Climb carefully to the top of the lookout point. The access is steep and cluttered with rocks.
(6) Admire the 360° panorama of the Alpilles mountain range, Mont Ventoux, Luberon, Montagne Sainte-Victoire, etc. Retrace your steps back down.
(5) Descend to the left, cross the Chemin de Belval à Lunard and continue downhill. Turn right, then much further on, turn left to reach Mas de Guérin.
(7) Go around it on the left, following the yellow markings. Take the path on the left behind the farmhouse. Turn right then left in the shade of a pine forest until you reach the D16b departmental road, cross it then descend to the medieval Pougnois Canal.
(8) Walk along the canal on the right. Cross another departmental road. Without losing sight of the markings, continue straight ahead, veer left and follow the small path overlooking the Cabasse plain. Descend on the left and cross "the Smurf forest" on the right to reach the playground and car park (S/E).
