(S/E) Take the path that passes in front of the school entrance and follow it on the right-hand side. Then follow a stream on the left-hand side. Cross the stream and then cross a road.
(1) At the next crossroads, go straight ahead, following the yellow and green markings, and cross the playground. In this section, the path taken does not correspond to the map. Cross the stream twice, the first time by fording it, the second time on two railway sleepers (be careful, they are slippery in wet weather). When you come out of the woods, you will find yourself on a paved dead-end road that leads to some houses.
(2) You will reach a road and follow it to the left, going up the valley. Go back down, leaving the Saint-Pierre stables on your left. Then continue up the valley. At the end of the tarmac area, continue straight on until you reach an intersection.
(3) Keep left and stay on the main road. Continue along a path.
(4) At a fork, turn left, leaving the marked path, and then left again at the fork that appears shortly afterwards. Follow the path that runs above the bottom of the valley.
(5) At the next junction, take a sharp right and climb a steep slope to the next intersection.
(6) At the top, take a narrower path on the left. This path runs alongside private property (do not enter).
(7) Cross Chemin de Gardanne in Mimet. Follow the path opposite for 250 metres.
(8) You will reach the Sentier Provence Mines Energies trail and follow it to the right (sharp turn).
(9) At a fork, turn diagonally and then left again shortly afterwards. Go downhill and then straight back up to rejoin a tarmac road.
(10) Follow the road straight ahead for about 500 m.
(11) Leave the road and take a path on the right, following the yellow and green markings.
(12) Further on, at an intersection, turn left to go uphill. The markings become less frequent until you reach Font Belle.
(13) At the crossroads, turn right and, shortly afterwards, leave the path on the right via some rocky steps leading downhill. Join the Gardanne road, cross it and follow it to the right for about 50 metres.
(14) Then take a path on the left. Turn right at the hairpin bend, ignoring a path on the left, and you will come to a fork.
(15) Turn right (yellow and green markings andGRP® Provence Métropole markings).
(16) Cross the Gardanne road again and follow theGRP® (red and yellow markings) opposite. Further on, you will reach a wide path and follow it as it continues. You will come to a tarmac road further on.
(17) Follow a marked trail that runs parallel to a high-voltage power line. Pass under the power line and continue north-west.
(18) At the T-junction, turn left. You will immediately come to a road, which you follow north-west.
(19) You will come to another road and follow it to the left. Ignore all the turnings on the left and you will come to a junction opposite the École des Aires car park.
(20) Turn right. At the three-way junction that follows, veer right. You will soon come to a junction that you passed on the way there.
(1) Take the path on the left in the opposite direction to the outward journey, which leads back to the car park of the Lycée Marie-Madeleine Fourcade (S/E).
