Park in the car park at the bottom of the village of Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye.
(S/E) With your back to the car park, turn left, cross the D27, head towards the gatehouse (town hall) up Chemin des Buttes and take Grande Rue on the left. Join the Sentier du Flaneur crossroads, which starts on the right, between a bridge and the last house in the village.
(1) Continue straight ahead and turn right onto Route de Lyon. At thesecond three-way junction, leave this road and turn left onto Route de Bayet. After 100 metres, you will come to a crossroads with a grassy path.
(2) Turn left onto it and follow the path as it continues. Enter the Combe de l'Enfer, following the left bank of the Muzellin stream. At the confluence of the streams, continue along the right bank of the Seyssel stream to reach the hamlet of Abraham. You will come to a fork in the road after the hamlet.
(3) Continue straight ahead, heading north, on Chemin d'Abraham until you reach the D27.
(4) Turn right and follow the road downhill. Ignore the D27a on the left towards Dionnay and continue for 50 metres.
(5) Turn left onto Chemin du Pont de Fer, which recalls the old tram viaduct that once spanned the Furand.
(6) At the next fork, turn 90° left. Follow the old tramway to Dionay. Turn left at the road opposite the cemetery, then right towards the church.
(7) At the three-way junction after the church, turn right onto Chemin de la Gare, which descends, and continue to a place called Cul de Perrette (castle mound).
(8) Turn right downhill towards the Saint-Jean le Fromental Chapel surrounded by its cemetery. Continue uphill until you reach a fork.
(9) Turn left onto Route de la Bâtie et de la Rivoire and continue past Barreton until you reach a fork with a cross.
(10) Turn right, pass Enclos, then return to the overlook above the abbey and admire the view. Head towards the football stadium.
(11) Keep to the right to follow the Sentier du Flâneur. Pass under the cemetery near a stream and return to the crossroads you passed on the way there.
(1) Cross the Grand Rue and take the road almost opposite, under the house at the cartwheel.
Turn left into the suburb, cross a small bridge and take Rue de l'Hôpital. Turn right into Rue des Moulins, then left and right, passing in front of the market hall. Cross Rue Hector Garaud, turn left and then right at the fountain to reach Rue des Terreaux. Follow it to the left until you reach the car park where you started (S/E).
