Park in the car park near Yzeron Town Hall, below the D25 road to Thurins .
(S/E) From the car park, join the D25 road and turn right, continuing for 20 metres. In front of the town hall, you will see a sign on the right.
(1) At the "Yzeron-Village" sign, turn left (south-west) towards Le Planil, via Montée de la Chazière.
(2) At the "Le Planil" sign, turn right (west) towards Le Petit Pré via Chemin du Planil. After 50 metres, ignore Chemin de La Cornelière descending to the left and continue straight ahead. Pass in front of the Hacienda campsite. At the crossroads, take the descent to the right alongside the cemetery. At the bottom, turn left onto the ascending D122 road until you reach the first path on the right, opposite the "Yzeron Résidence" building.
(3) At the "Le Petit Pré" sign, turn slightly right towards the Ronzey lake. At the intersection at the corner of the lake, turn right (north) onto the dam to reach the opposite corner.
(4) At the "Le Plan d'Eau du Ronzey" sign, head towards Frigaud on the left. At the end of the lake, keep left, cross the footbridge over the Yzeron and you will come to a path. Take this path on the right, along the river, to reach an intersection.
(5) At the "Frigaud" sign, turn left onto a path leading uphill towards Le Tiollet. After a left turn, you will reach an intersection (elevation 738). Go up to the right through the woods, ignoring the side paths. You will reach an intersection near a pumping station (elevation 791). Leave the path opposite and turn right, going in the opposite direction. Cross the earth embankment of a reservoir before reaching a road in front of the Tiollet farm.
(6) At the sign for "Le Tiollet", follow it to the left towards La Croix de Pars. Ignore the dead-end road on the left towards Le Pilon (elevation 816). Reach a crossroads with the D489 road (elevation 818).
(7) At the unmarked sign, continue towards La Croix de Pars. Cross the road and climb the path on the right, up the side of the embankment. At the fork, keep right, leaving the path on the left, and enter the Bois de la Verrière. You will come to a crossroads flanked by a cross (elevation 812) and cross the D25 road.
(8) At the "La Croix de Pars" sign, take the road on the right, Chemin du Cazot, towards La Chapelle St-Clair. Ignore the access roads on the right to the Gilet farm, then the Cazot farm, and then the side paths, one of which is marked with an unnamed sign. Continue to the crossroads of a road and paths (elevation 833), located in front of the remains of an old chapel.
(9) At the sign for "La Chapelle St-Clair", head towards Bibelain via the Route de Saint-Clair opposite (north-east). Immediately at the fork, follow it to the left on a raised path. Ignore a path on the left and rejoin the road. Cross it and follow it along a path (north). At the crossroads, turn right, then left. Follow a sunken path to reach an intersection.
(10) At the "En Bibelain" sign, follow the sign for Les Jumeaux on the left. After a right turn, join a road, Le Chemin du Soupat (elevation 726). Follow it straight ahead (north-east), then cross the hamlet of Les Jumeaux Sud. Shortly afterwards, at the fork (elevation 710), take the road on the left, Le Chemin des Jumeaux. Pass the hamlet of Les Jumeaux Nord and arrive at a crossroads (elevation 728).
(11) At the "Les Jumeaux" sign, head for Col de Maval, taking the same road that turns left. After about 100 metres, ignore the path straight ahead and continue on the road turning right. Cross the Route des Crêtes D113 (elevation 776). Continue for 100 metres on the ascending path opposite to reach a fork. Ignore the path opposite and follow the marked path on the right, which leads to Col de Malval.
(12) At the "Col de Maval" sign, head towards Le Barthélemy via the path going downhill (south-east), to the left of the D113 towards Yzeron. Ignore the side paths and you will come to a road. Ignore it and follow the path on the left. Join the road that leads to the farm at the end of the hamlet of Le Vernay.
(13) Leave the marked path descending to the left of the farmhouse and take the road on the right. At the fork, leave it and take the path on the right. After 100 m, at the intersection (elevation 567), keep left and rejoin the road. Descend for 100 m before reaching a fork.
(14) Leave the road and climb the marked path on the right. At the intersection, at analtitude of 620 m, leave the path straight ahead and climb the one on the right, straight up the slope. You will come to an old Roman road, which is almost level (altitude 660 m). Take it to the left (south) until you reach an intersection (elevation 652).
(15) At the "Croix de Garde" sign, turn left towards La Milonière, then 100 m further on, turn right onto a wide, steep, stony descent to reach a crossroads (elevation 609).
(16) At the "La Milonière" sign, head towards Les Pilonnières via the road opposite. In the hamlet of La Milonière, at the fork flanked by a cross (elevation 585), take the street on the right and immediately leave it for an ascending path on the right. Further up (altitude 660 m), join another path that follows the route of the Roman aqueduct from Yzeron to Les Essalards (numerous information signs). Walk along it in the opposite direction to the left to reach a crossroads at the Ruisseau de la Milonière stream.
(17) At the "Les Pilonnières" sign, ignore the path ascending to the right and follow the sign for Crêt de Piraluron to the left. Ignore the side paths and trails to reach an intersection.
(18) At the "Crêt de Piraluron" sign, turn right towards Les Rivoires. Immediately cross a path (elevation 674), then, about 500 m further on, in a left-hand bend, cross the Ruisseau des Aduts (elevation 675). After 400 m, you will reach a fork in the woods.
(19) At the sign for "Les Rivoires", continue straight on towards Les Esselards. In the hollow of a valley, pass in front of the Goutte Chérine farm. At the fork marked with a cross, ignore the path on the right towards Les Esselards and continue straight ahead. You will come to a road, the Chemin des Essalards.
(20) At the "Les Esselards" sign, turn right and head towards Pimongon. At the hamlet of Le Trossin, leave the road and keep left to pass between the buildings. Continue along a steep path (north-east) which, after a left turn, climbs (north-west) to join the D113 road. Take this road to the left and, after 250 m, leave it for a path on the right. At the top, you will reach a crossroads (elevation 816).
(21) At the "Pimongon" sign, take the second path on the left towards Crêt de la Madone. About 100 metres after a left turn, ignore the path on the right and continue on level ground to Crêt de la Madone (elevation 861) near the start of a long zip line.
(22) At the "Crêt de la Madone" sign, follow the signs for La Rivière. Descend the marked path alongside the tall statue of the Virgin Mary, then turn left. After a few hairpin bends through the woods, you will arrive at a path further down. Follow it to the left and join the D113 road. Take it to the right, and just before it curves to the right, leave it for a path descending to the left. After a passage through the undergrowth, turn left onto a path running down the hillside. Turn left onto the D489 road and continue to an intersection.
(23) At the "La Rivière" sign, head towards Yzeron-Village. Cross the D489 road and go up Chemin du Chatel opposite. At the fork, leave the street opposite and go up the one on the right. At the top, turn left towards the square. At the end of the square, pass in front of the town hall and continue straight on to the car park (S/E).
