In Garlan, park in the car park near the town hall. There’s a slightly faded mural.
(S/E) Follow the road eastwards, keeping the church enclosure on your left. At the junction, keep left towards Ferme de Croaz Men. At the next crossroads, carry on straight ahead along Route de Cann Braz. Then continue straight ahead along this small road.
(1) Pass the sign for Poulran on your left. Carry on along the small road.
(2) After passing some livestock buildings, as the road bends to the left, go straight on along Route d’Elien, which soon becomes a track. You’ll come to a junction of paths.
(3) Turn left and cross the Dourduff over a small stone bridge (made up of three flat stones). The path joins a small road/track; follow it straight on. At the junction with a road, turn left and head towards the hamlet of Mesguen, passing a wash house on the left-hand side of the road.
(4) Continue along the road, enjoying unobstructed views of the surrounding countryside.
(5) At a place called Poullallen, carry on straight ahead along the road, ignoring the road to Garlan on the left, until you reach a place called Bois de la Roche.
(6) At the junction, turn left into the cul-de-sac, Rue des Trois Frères le Jeune. At the end of the street, carry on straight ahead along the path, passing the restored ruins of a mill.
(7) Immediately afterwards, cross the Douduff again over a stone bridge near a small marshy area, then continue along a sunken track. You’ll reach the end of a small road.
(8) Follow it to the right (on the left, a pretty house belonging to an organic cider producer). Turn into the first street on the left (a housing estate) as you reach the village of Garlan. Ignore a street on the right, then take a grassy path on the right which joins a street. Walk a few steps to the left, then cross the cemetery to the right towards the church. Exit via the other side of the churchyard to return to the car park (S/E).
