Parking is available along the starting path, on the D22 between Nanteuil-la-Forêt and Fleury-la-Rivière.
(S/E) Take the wide stony path from the car park and follow it for around 2 km.
(1) Shortly after passing under the high-voltage power line, leave the wide stony path and turn left onto the woodland track heading west (signposted ‘Forêt de Chaumuzy’).
During a recent reconnaissance hike along this route, the path was quite obstructed by numerous fallen branches lying across it and the ground was rather muddy; taking the path that runs parallel to it, about 150 m just to the north, offered a good alternative as it was in better condition (though this may always change following forestry work or heavy rain).
(2) As you emerge from the undergrowth, turn right onto a wide track, follow it and you will reach the junction with a path in the Bois de Courton.
(3) Leave the track and take a path on the left (which may be difficult to see due to forestry work but is definitely there). Head towards the edge of a field, stay along the edge to reach the hamlet of Paradis.
(4) Turn left and, as you leave the hamlet, just at the bend to the right, take the path, following the road for a few metres towards Belval. Follow this path into the small valley through the woodland and cross the Ruisseau du Marais. Then head back up through the fields. Reach the crossroads of paths marked by a sign: La Poterne.
(5) Turn left and walk alongside the vineyards. Cross La Poterne and leave the hamlet to reach a four-way junction.
(6) Follow the road that branches off to the right towards the south and cross the woods and the Ruisseau de la Petite Vente. You will come to another path junction in the field.
(7) Take the left-hand path, heading due east, and follow the edge of the Bois Brunetaux before entering the woods. Continue straight on, passing under the power lines, until you reach a multi-way junction.
(8) Turn onto thesecond path on the left, heading north-east; follow it, turn sharply right and continue on to return to the car park on the D 22 between Nanteuil-la-Forêt and Fleury-la-Rivière (S/E).
