Cliff edges and woodland starting from the San Sebastian lighthouse

A very lovely cliff-top walk through pine forests with stunning views of coves where almost red rocks overlook the blue water.

Description of the walk

You can park in the car parks near the hotel, on Carrer de l’Uruguai, at the foot of the San Sebastian lighthouse.

(S/E) Set off along the coastal path behind the hotel, following the red and whiteGR® markings.

(1) The climb is a bit steep to begin with (stairs and rocky sections), then the path enters the woodland overlooking the sea.

(2) Once the path levels out, turn right onto a path that descends, leaving the red and white markings behind. Then stay along the cliff edge until you’re overlooking Cala Pedrosa.

(3) You’ll come to a drawing table with coloured pencils, where you can sketch your impressions; this marks the junction. Turn left and you’ll reach a cross-path.

(4) Head left to return via theGR® towards the lighthouse.

(2) Continue in the opposite direction to the way you came and return to the car park (S/E).

In season, the little restaurant at ‘Cala Pedrosa’ makes for a lovely stop before heading back up...

Hello
Please note that, in my opinion, the difficulty level is between difficult and very difficult because, despite the short distance, the first part is on the side of a cliff on sandy and stony paths with a steep slope. In short, it's doable with independent children, as long as you're not a hypochondriac.
Otherwise, the hike is very interesting as it is by the sea under pine trees with a view overlooking several coves.

The walk was described as easy, but it wasn’t quite that straightforward. We had to turn back twice; the path was full of roots and rocks, and it took us much longer than expected… Apart from that, the scenery was magnificent!
