Departure from Les Chaussins in the commune of Chorges. You can park after the small bridge over the Dielle torrent.
(S/E) Take the track that climbs from the road towards Champ du Comte, following the yellow markings, and arrive at a viewpoint.
(1) Continue to follow the yellow markings on the track towards Fein via Pré Reynaud, while theGR® climbs to the left.
(2) Leave the track and take a steeper path, climbing to the left towards Bois Seignères and Pré Reynaud. After a few metres, you will see a wooden sign indicating "Le Fein" nailed to a tree. At the end of a fairly steep climb through the woods, you will reach a flat track.
(3) Take it to the left and walk along a clearing. Continue to a crossroads of several tracks (Sarrouet signpost). Continue towards Champ du Comte. Pass in front of the Cabane du Champ du Comte and continue on the track for about 50 metres.
(4) Leave the track and turn left onto a small path. Descend and then turn left onto a wider path which narrows and runs alongside the Chazonnet stream on your right. Depending on the cattle fences, you may sometimes have to cross the path when you get close to the road.
(5) Turn left onto the road, then turn left at the entrance to Le Fein.
(6) Leave the road and take a farm track on the right, 50 m after the hamlet, then continue straight ahead, passing under power lines. When the track turns right, continue on the path opposite. Continue straight ahead, ignoring the paths that branch off to the right, until you reach a road.
(7) Go down the road on the right to the starting point (S/E).
There are some beautiful views of Le Fein, Chorges, the Chabrières peaks and the lake. However, there are a few sections with stones that may be tricky with young children.
