From Sainte-Lucie de Porto Vecchio, follow theD168A, passing through the hamlet of Tagliu Rossu: parking is available (out of season) on the left, just after the first bridge. In season, there is a pay-and-display car park 1.2 km further on.
(S/E) Head back up theD168A, leaving the concrete track on your left.
Take the path 100 m further on to the left and follow the sign for “Chemin de Luviu” (yellow arrows and markers).
(1) About thirty metres below the telecoms mast, turn right, then make a 90° turn to the left and cross the track. Continue along the path to a junction on the plateau.
(2) Follow the path to the left. The trail rejoins the path on the right about fifty metres further on and meets another path which you should follow to the left. At the track, turn right to rejoin the path on the left immediately afterwards. Follow this path, which crosses the track six times in succession before reaching some rocky outcrops: there is a stunning view between the outcrops of the islands of Monte Cristo and Elba, the bays of Pinarello to the east, and to the south, the bay of Saint-Cyprien, the Gulf of Porto Vecchio, the Cerbicales Islands, Lavezzi and Sardinia.
(3) Head down a little to rejoin a small track; follow it to the left for 200 m and rejoin the path on your left after the bend. Return to the track, follow it to the left until you reach a stone reservoir (a source of drinking water unless there is a drought).
(4) Just before this, the path veers right onto the northern slope, offering magnificent views. Reach a pine forest and continue slightly below the ridge until you come within sight of the Luviu sheepfolds. The path then leads onto a small track; follow it down to the left to the sheepfolds situated in a superb clearing.
(5) Follow the ascent route in the opposite direction to return to the car park (start/finish).
