Morne Chapeau Nègre with a machete

Several sections therefore require extra effort to progress. The reward comes throughout the hike, via the atmosphere and certain passages offering breathtaking views of Mount Pelée, the Pitons du Carbet and the bay of Fort-de-France.This off-the-beaten-track adventure is ideal for those seeking authenticity and tranquillity, far from the crowds. Prepare yourself for total immersion in the tropical rainforest, where each step brings you closer to communing with nature.
The Beauregard Canal (or Slave Canal)
A hike along a very easy path, following an old irrigation canal. It allows you to discover the lush tropical vegetation and offers beautiful views of the Pitons du Carbet massif.
The elevation gain shown is greatly overestimated: it is only a few dozen metres at most.

The Sainte-Cécile circular with the ascent of Morne Jacob
A beautiful circular hike through vegetation typical of Martinique, with splendid tropical flowers. Weather permitting, at the summit you will have a beautiful panorama of the Carbet ridges and a view of Mount Pelée.
Allow between 4 and 5 hours to complete this hike.
Ascent of Mount Pelée
The climb will reward you with breathtaking views of the island in good weather.

Mount Pelé via Grande Savane
Mount Pelée is rarely free of clouds, but that's no problem. The hike I suggest takes you up to the Caldera, where you can enjoy views of Saint-Pierre and Le Prêcheur. The well-maintained path is relatively easy despite the steep slope and rocky sections, and steps make the going easier.
Prêcheur - Grand'Rivière
One of the most beautiful hikes in Martinique! Immerse yourself in the tropical rainforest, surrounded by lush vegetation, with superb views of the sea at intervals.
