The hike starts at the end of the car park at the small ski resort of Gresse-en-Vercors.
(S/E) Head south-west on a good path that climbs gently (there are hiking signs indicating Pas de la Ville). You will quickly pass a small artificial lake.
The ascent continues on the same path, which becomes a trail, then the slope becomes significantly steeper.
(1) At a place called "sous le Pas de la Ville", turn left (to reach Pas de la Ville, you would need to continue straight ahead).
Continue in a south-easterly direction until you reach the Fontaine du Veymont.
(2) Turn left and follow the path.
(3) Ignore the path that climbs to the right and continue downhill to reach a forest track and, a little further on, the Veymont forest hut, which offers shelter and a picnic table.
The descent continues along this gently sloping forest track.
(4) Turn right and continue along the track. As you pass, you will notice the dam on the left, which was built to break the current of the torrent during heavy floods.
Follow the track to return to the starting point (S/E).
