Depart from car park P2 at the Trémelin leisure centre in Iffendic.
(S/E) Head towards the leisure centre to go around the lake on its left. Pass the beach on your right and cross the wooden footbridge.
(1) Once you have crossed the footbridge, turn right onto the path between the rocks, walking between the lodges and the lake. Continue along the compacted sand path running alongside the lake until you reach the first wooden barrier.
(2) At the barrier, turn right onto a stony path until you reach a second wooden barrier. Cross it and continue along the compacted sand path that goes around the lake.
(3) As you approach a small wooden bridge, ignore the other paths and stay on the compacted sand path. Cross the small bridge.
(4) 80 metres further on, cross a second small wooden bridge and, facing a directional arrow (visible from behind), leave the compacted sand path and take the dirt path immediately to its left.
(5) After 200 metres, at the intersection, turn left following the clearly positioned directional arrow. Continue through the woods on the dirt path until you cross the small Putenoë stream, which is dry in summer.
(6) Cross the stream and immediately turn left (directional arrows). Continue through the woods on the dirt path until you reach the edge of the woods. Then continue to the right on the gravel path until you reach the place called "La Ville ès Macé".
(7) Turn left onto the tarmac road until you reach the D35.
(8) Immediately turn left to cross the bridge, then immediately cross the D35 (caution: busy road) to enter the dirt track.
(9) Once you have passed the Careil farm and crossed the bridge, leave the tarmac road and turn right onto the red sand path running alongside the service road. 650m further on, you can reach the observatory by taking the wooden footbridge on the right of the path.
(10) Retrace your steps and continue on the right along a path, sometimes dirt, sometimes grassy, until you approach the D35.
(11) Cross again (caution: busy road) and take the small asphalt road opposite to the place called "La Hamelinais".
(12) At the end of the hamlet, continue right along the small tarmac road for 500 metres.
(13) At the top of the hill, turn right onto the dirt track that leads into the forest (directional arrows). Follow this track, ignoring those branching off to the left, until you cross a small road (112m), then continue straight ahead on the dirt track.
(6) Back at the Putenoë stream, continue straight ahead on the dirt track until you reach the intersection you came to on the way out (directional arrow).
(5) Ignore the paths on the right and left and take the small path opposite, which leads to the compacted sand path around the lake 60m further on. Take this path on the left and follow it until you reach your destination.
(14) At the end of the cove, ignore the path opposite and take the wooden footbridge on the right, then immediately right to rejoin the path running alongside the lake. Go around the sailing school on the left, then turn right towards the leisure centre. Pass in front of the Tourist Office and turn left to return to the starting point (S/E).
