Start from the Font de Mai car park on the D44, Chemin d'Eoures (plenty of parking spaces).
(S/E) To the left of the car park, follow the road then take the path on the left with the barrier. Then follow the signposting for the “Sentier de Marcel Pagnol”, which is very well signposted once you have passed through the barrier at Parc de Fond de Mai. When you reach the road again, turn left, then continue to a bend.
(1) Head off to the right. Turn immediately left onto a wide path that climbs gently, passing two lovely family-friendly areas on the right, one of which has a lovely lawn. Shortly afterwards, you’ll reach a junction and turn right onto the sky-blue marked path heading towards the Col d’Aubignane.
(2) At the fork in the road, take the right-hand branch until you reach a stone well in the middle of a large clearing. Turn right again, staying on the widest path. This path takes a sharp 90° bend to the right and, a few metres further on, crosses a forest gate.
(3) Go through the forest gate and continue along the path. You will see a green cistern on the right: this is cistern number 563. Then, you will reach a junction and turn left, staying on the main path, to reach a forest gate.
(4) Go through this gate and continue along the path, which begins to descend, offering beautiful views of the mountains. Keep as far to the right as possible, following the widest path, until you reach a large junction.
(5) Turn right, staying on the main path.
(6) At the junction, turn left, then at the next crossroads, turn left again. Do the same at the third junction, staying on the widest path, to rejoin the path you took on the way out.
(5) Take this path again to the right, in the opposite direction, until you reach the car park (S/E).
