The route starts in Notre-Dame-de-Courson, a historic village now part of the municipality of Livarot-Pays-d’Auge. Park in the village hall car park, situated 50 metres on the right after the junction between the D64 and the D4, heading towards Les Moutiers-Hubert.
(S/E) Walk about 50 metres to the right towards Les Moutiers-Hubert, then cross the raised footbridge to turn left and walk alongside the wall of the “Passerose” property. After 100 metres, turn right onto Chemin Saint-Pierre and continue walking alongside the “Passerose” property, passing the cemetery. Carry on for about 500 metres.
(1) Turn right onto Chemin de la Feultière and you’ll reach the entrance to three properties. The small road, which has been passable by car up to this point, becomes a footpath. Carry on to the first junction.
(2) Turn right onto the path that descends towards the valley, then turn left, taking a moment to admire the small oratory of Notre-Dame de Bethléem as you pass. Follow the path until you reach a small road known as Chemin de la Hardière.
(3) Turn left and head back up towards the plateau. Pass a footpath on your left, then a small road, also on the left, until you reach the junction with the Chemin de la Cocardière.
(4) Turn left. Cross the D4 with care and follow the Chemin de la Salette straight ahead, slightly to the left. Carry on for 400 m to admire the Manoir de Courson and its dovecote on your left, then take a left-hand bend. Further on, ignore the various turnings on either side before reaching a 90° right-hand bend at a place called Le Petit Houx.
(5) Leave the Chemin de la Salette and carry on straight ahead along the Chemin Ancien: it’s said that at night you might come across elves here. Head towards the village of Notre-Dame de Courson and the D64.
(6) Turn left onto the D64. Cross back over the D4 at the roundabout using the pedestrian crossing and head straight ahead to reach the car park for the village hall (S/E).
