Description of the walk

Park in the Port Saint-Géran car park at the bottom of Rue de Saint Géran, which ends in a cul-de-sac and has around twenty spaces.

(S/E) The start is to the right of the car park (GR®34) when facing the sea (splendid view of the bay). The path winds along the coast with numerous changes in elevation, ending at Château Serein Beach. Please note that you may have to pass under tree trunks that fell during the last storms of winter 2023.

(1) Take a few steps to the right and continue along the GR®34, which climbs uphill. Go through a metal gate, ignore a path that branches off to the left and continue straight ahead until you reach a road.

(2) Cross the small Route de Château Serein (D117) and continue almost straight ahead towards Malavenir (yellow sign) until you reach a T-junction.

(3) Turn right towards La Motte, marked in yellow, cross a road, pass in front of a tower and continue straight ahead until you reach Rue de la Motte.

(4) Take the PR® on the right and at the next fork, turn right for 50 metres until you reach a crossroads.

(5) Turn right onto Rue du Château Serein (D117) and continue to the first path on the left.

(6) Take this path, which further on turns left and becomes Allée du Télégraphe. You will arrive at Rue Joseph Le Goff.

(7) Take this street opposite and join Rue de Saint-Géran.

(8) Turn right onto this street, which descends steeply to the car park (S/E).

The view of the sea is too obstructed by vegetation, and the countryside on the way back is unremarkable.
The coastal path is not that easy due to the frequent ups and downs along the coast in Brittany, whereas the return journey inland is very easy and very pretty at times, such as these paths covered with vegetation.

Please note: in my opinion, you should not start from Port Saint-Géran, as beginning with the GR 34 straight away is a real "leg breaker".
Instead, start from the car park above Château Serein beach: you'll begin in the countryside, which is more "relaxed".
The paths can sometimes be very muddy after heavy rain.
The walk is magnificent.
