Around Montaut-les-Créneaux via the Bois du Pilhat

A circular route with beautiful views as it passes through the Bois du Pilhat. Please note that half of the route follows small tarmac roads. Montaut-les-Créneaux is a magnificent village well worth a visit, particularly via the hidden walkway along the rampart and whilst enjoying the secluded gardens.

A lovely, peaceful walk through the woods; the weather was a bit mixed, but there were lovely views over the fields – no view of the Pyrenees
The route through the village is very pretty
There’s a picnic table in the village

Lovely views of the Gers. At times, weather permitting, you can catch a glimpse of some of the Pyrenean peaks in the distance. Easy to follow, with wide paths and little shade apart from in the woods.
The section through the woods is well maintained, but there is a risk of mud after heavy rain.
There’s a picnic area at the bottom of the village near the football pitch, with tables and benches.
