Description of the walk

Start from Camping le Sud.

(S/E) Take the road towards Porticcio for about 250m.

(1) Turn right onto a path towards the hamlet of Santamanza (just before the bridge over the Ruppione stream) and immediately take the track branching off to the right. Continue along this track.

(2) At the first junction, take a track on the right which winds along a balcony and offers magnificent views of Ajaccio Bay, passing occasionally beneath magnificent rows of eucalyptus trees.

(3) At the junction of several tracks, take the one that continues straight ahead (downhill...). Continue the descent and admire the views of Plage d’Argent (Mare e Sole) as you go, pass a hairpin bend flanked by a pylon and continue for about a hundred metres.

(4) Take the small path branching off to the left. You’ll arrive in a grove of olive and cork oak trees bordering a ruin (A Ficca). Pass by the ruin, take the path immediately to the left and head down towards the stream.

(5) Cross the stream and walk alongside the ruins of an old mill. Head back up the path that continues straight ahead and joins a wider track.

(6) Take this track on the right and follow it.

(7) At the junction with another track, continue to the right, along the main track which descends towards the sea and the beach.

(8) When you reach the road, turn right and walk along the side of it. After the bend to the left, take the path on the left leading to Plage d’Argent.

(9) Take the opportunity to admire the beach and perhaps go for a swim....
Then, head back north along the road. Walking along the roadside with the coast on your left, make your way to the campsite (about 30 minutes) (S/E).

A very beautiful route with splendid views of the Gulf of Ajaccio.
We stopped for a break at a small ruined house dating back to 1786 (they knew how to work with stone back then).
Rather easy, with a short rocky section but no difficulty

A lovely walk with some beautiful views. I’d describe it as ‘easy’ rather than ‘moderate’. No particular difficulties. Quite busy towards the end. Just a bit too much road at the start and finish.

A superb walk, fairly easy – I suppose the difficulty lies in the distance. It was a bit tricky to find the way near the ruins, but it’s a very pretty spot

The route is lovely because you walk along a promenade with a view of the sea. However, you should start from Argent Beach so that you don’t end up walking along the road at the end of the hike

Hello, this route is estimated to take 4 hours 30 minutes... without pushing myself, I did it in 3 hours 5 minutes...
A few views of the Gulf of Ajaccio, but nothing to write home about... On a mountain bike, this route could be quite nice...
