Coming from the south on the D25A, park in the small car park on the right-hand side at the bottom of the village (bus shelter); there are always spaces available. Sign: “Saint-Roch 702 Salon de Provence”
(S/E) Walk up the street towards the village centre (D25A), via Avenue Saint-Roch and Rue Neuve.
(1) In the village, follow Avenue des Alpilles to the left and then, a little further on, Chemin des Estendedous. From here, follow the red and white markings (for 5 km,GR®653A). A little further on, take Chemin de Saint-Jean on the right.
(2) At the DFCI sign, take the track on the left.
(3) At the signpost, follow signs for Mouries via Le Destet. Take the path just after, on the right, to admire a cave a little further on.
(4) Turn right at the junction.
(5) Turn left onto a yellow-marked path (leaving theGR®) and, immediately, follow the path up the hill.
(6) At the top, continue straight on to reach the other hill below. On the second hill, head right to join a track below (unmarked path). Continue straight on along the track, over a small rocky outcrop, then descend towards the canal.
(7) Pass under the canal, then turn left, following the canal. Along a viaduct, take the path on the right. Keep right at the junction.
(8) At the signpost, turn left towards Aureille. Cross a small metal bridge. At the ‘Give Way’ sign, turn right to return to the car park (S/E).
